Parasites like fleas, ticks, lice, and flying insects are not just a nuisance: they can cause allergic reactions and dermatitis with secondary bacterial infections, and they can even transmit diseases or other parasites!

Advantix for dogs is a spot-on antiparasitic (in drops for external use) specific for dogs that offers broad protection against fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, sandflies, lice, and horseflies. Advantix is a product containing two active ingredients, which acts as an antiparasitic with insecticidal and acaricidal action, as well as a repellent.

The repellent effect acts on parasites before they can bite. Protecting against bites from ticks and sandflies, thus reducing the risk of transmission of LEISHMANIASIS and other tick-borne diseases (Ehrlichiosis, Borreliosis, and Rickettsiosis).

Topical treatment (spot-on) for dogs of all sizes from 7 weeks of age, available in two formats suitable for puppies containing a single pipette and 5 packages for different weight ranges containing 4 and 6 pipettes.

How does it work?

Advantix contains two active ingredients: imidacloprid and permethrin.

Imidacloprid is an ectoparasiticide active against adult fleas and larval stages of fleas. Adult fleas are killed quickly before they can bite, and those already present on the dog are killed within a day of treatment. In addition to the adulticidal activity against fleas of imidacloprid, a larvicidal action in the surrounding environment has been demonstrated after application on the animal. Advantix is also indicated for the treatment of lice.

Permethrin belongs to the class of pyrethroids and also acts as a repellent. Permethrin has acaricidal and repellent activity against parasites such as ticks, mosquitoes, and sandflies (or phlebotomines), preventing them from biting and thus reducing the risk of transmission of diseases carried by these parasites, such as leishmaniasis, a very serious disease that phlebotomines or sandflies can transmit to your dog through bites. Advantix repels ticks before they can bite and kills those that come into contact with the skin, reducing the risk of transmission of Ehrlichiosis, Borrelia, and Rickettsiosis carried by tick bites. It provides repellent activity against horseflies, helping in the prevention of fly bite dermatitis.

It has been shown that imidacloprid acts synergistically, increasing the effectiveness of permethrin.

It is easy to administer thanks to the topical application (spot-on). Additionally, it remains effective if the dog's fur gets wet occasionally. Remember, Advantix is not suitable for cats and should be applied only and exclusively to dogs.
