Advantix for dogs is a spot-on pesticide (in drops for external use) specific for dogs that offers extensive protection against fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, sandflies, lice and horseflies. Advantix is ​​a product containing two active ingredients, which acts as a pesticide with an insecticidal, acaricide and repellent action.

How does it work?

Advantix contains two active ingredients: imidacloprid and permethrin.

Imidacloprid is an ectoparasiticide active against adult fleas and the larval stages of fleas. Adult fleas are killed quickly before they can bite, those already present on the dog are killed within a day of treatment. In addition to the adultsicidal activity against fleas of imidacloprid, a larvicidal action in the surrounding environment has been demonstrated after application on the animal. Advantix is ​​also indicated for the treatment of lice.

Permethrin belongs to the pyrethroid class and also acts as a repellent. Permethrin has an acaricidal andrepellentactivity towards parasites such as ticks, mosquitoes and sandflies (or sandflies), preventing them from biting and thus reducing the risk of transmission of diseases transmitted by these parasites such asleishmaniasis, a very serious disease that sandflies or sandflies can transmit to your dog through bites. Advantix repels ticks before they can bite and kills those that come into contact with the skin, also reducing the risk of transmission of Ehrlichiosis, Borreliosis and Rickettiosis carried by the tick bite. Provides repellent activity against horse flies, helping in the prevention of fly bite dermatitis.

Imidacloprid has been shown to act synergistically by increasing the effectiveness of permethrin.
